CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE, RESTAURANT, INN
Opened in 1996 and owned by area restaurateur Al Ruppert, HawksHead is a big, beautiful, sand-strewn layout that Arthur Hills designed on land that was once an asparagus farm.
The Ohio-based architect has described HawksHead as "a bit like the courses found in the sandy pits of New Jersey." What he probably meant, but was too modest to say, is that HawksHead has a lot of the look and feel of Pine Valley, the famously tough course in the Garden State that's regularly ranked #1 in America. The main difference is that HawksHead is challenging, but not punishing. It's also fun.
The Inn at HawksHead has a special feeling that comes from staying at the magnificently restored Old English Tudor Manison with nine spacious guest rooms.
The restaurant is known for the unique atmosphere and varied menu with understated elegance and gourmet cuisine.
